How To OVERWINTER POTTED PLANTS Easier Than Bringing Plants Indoors

Published
In today's 2 minute garden tip, I show you how to overwinter potted plants easier than bringing plants indoors. It's common to bring cold sensitive potted plants indoors for the winter, but that method has many downsides. This overwintering method is easier and has less downsides if your climate allows this simple technique.

My climate is not warm enough to grow tropicals in-ground, so I am growing citrus trees and tropicals as container plants. Overwintering potted plants to escape the cold temps is a process I must go through every winter to keep them alive. While most growers overwinter container plants inside their home, I do not because of the many downsides. Overwintering container plants indoors requires an extensive acclimation and re-acclimation process, it often brings pests indoors, the overwintering plants are susceptible to indoor pest outbreaks, and they take up a lot of space.

I have developed an easier method of overwintering plants in containers, which eliminates those downsides.
