It's over | Allotments For Fun and Food

Published
Today I decided it's the end of the tomato growing season and they need to come out before they get to that dusty infected stage. I think there will be a fair harvest as I remove them. The cucumbers are going to have the same fate, it will be interesting to see how many cucumbers are lurking beneath the foliage. It's always a hug job clearing the the poly tunnel and all the old soil and pots have to be moved. The green tomatoes are always a bit of a challenge but I like to ripen them over time.It always seems like the start of something new when I clear the hoop house / poly tunnel out. The Roma tomatoes need a bit more ripening on the vine so I decide to move them and prolong their life a little longer. I make a decision about future growing of cucumbers. The basil has reached the end of the road in is heading to the compost heaps.

UK Allotments are the ideal place to learn how to grow fruit and vegetables. My allotment is a no dig allotment and I share how to grow vegetables and how to prepare a no dig garden. If you are growing in a backyard garden or homestead and you want some tips on how to grow vegetables I hope my channel has something to offer. Allotment ideas are always worth sharing and I am happy to share my gardening ideas and failures so that we can all learn to grow vegetables together. I also learn on the allotment nearly every time I am there and learning how to grow in a Polytunnel or greenhouse can be a fun an exciting experience too. If you are one of the many allotment beginners or thousands of people growing in your garden for the first time then join me growing on Allotments For Fun and food and get some allotment ideas.
