Pepper In A Can Challenge (Part 1) #pepperplants #pepperinacan #winteriscanning #indoorgarden

Published
I love growing chili peppers. In this video I show you how to set up and start the Pepper in a Can Challenge. The idea of this challenge is to keep you chili pepper plants small by pruning. I also plan on pruning the roots as the plant grows and will treat this challenge more like a bonsai plant.

I’m using a 15.5 ounce can but other have used smaller cans in the past. Stay tuned to the progress of this challenge, but this first video is just the initial
Set up.

This challenge is the perfect way to garden indoors during the winter. You should take part and use the hashtag #pepperinacan. All you need is a can, potting soil and pepper seeds. A sander makes it easier to get the top off, but you can use a can opener. You can also punch drainage holes with a hammer and nail if you don’t have a drill.

A plastic bag and grow light will also increase your chances of the pepper seeds germinating. The plastic bag adds humidity and the grow light works better than a windowsill.

I plan on doing multiple parts to this pepper in a can challenge. I also have a heated mat coming and I’m using a grow light. This challahs also been called the #winteriscanning challenge.
