Relying on rain 'just wont cut it' if you are growing vegetables in buckets, bags or pots. The leaves act like an umbrella shedding and holding any water that drops on them, the wind and the sun then evaporate that water off. The soil in the bucket might get none and your bucket is starting to 'dry out'. This simple little demonstration video that I shot a few years ago demonstrates that perfectly. There is a right way and a wrong way to water a bucket a bag or a pot.
