UK Tropical Jungle Garden Summer Tour 2022 - Drought, Filler Plants & Design Ideas

Today's (long!) video is a long awaited summer garden tour video with a closer look at some of the amazing hardy and summer display exotic plants I recommend for UK gardens. I took the gamble of leaving a lot of my cannas, Hedychium ornamental ginger plants and other tropical style flowers in the ground last year, today is the big reveal of the results! It's been a sunny but challenging summer, with drought and heatwaves affecting most of the UK so it only seemed right to mention the reality of how this has affected my garden and some practical design, planting and care tips to help make your exotic plants more drought tolerant and resilient. I look at how an exotic jungle or tropical style garden can be lower maintenance than you might expect, some of the more unusual exotics I grow, a selection of the crucial filler plants that I use to tie the whole garden together and discuss some project and life updates...
