WW1 Webinar | Series No. 4 | The Unknown Warrior

Published
This is a recording of a series of webinars to help young people understand why the First World War happened, who was involved and why, and the impact it had on the world. This is the last in the series.
On November 11th 1920, an unidentified British soldier was interred at Westminster Abbey, London. The congregation was mainly composed of widows and mothers who had lost sons. But how and why did the idea come about and did anyone really know the identity of the soldier?
As a veteran soldier himself, Kevin Hicks, answers these questions and more, and recounts the moving story of how the Unknown Warrior came to rest at Westminster Abbey.
The session is designed to inform, and to inspire a greater understanding and respect for the reason we have Remembrance Day.
